There\’s been so much going on in the past few weeks in Glass so here\’s a short round up. Still to come are reports on the recent Pantomonium Panto and the St Andrew\’s Family Ceilidh, but for now please read on.
We held our Remembrance Service at 2pm on Sunday 13th November. The poignant service was led by Mr Calder, with wreaths being laid by James Ingleby on behalf of the Lord Lieutenant and Thomas MacPherson on behalf of the Community Council. The service closed with our local piper, Kevin Scott, playing.
There were about 40 attendees who enjoyed home bakes, biscuits, and refreshment in Glass Hall afterwards. £62 was raised in donations which will be sent to Poppy Scotland.
Although it was way back in June we wanted to let you know that the final overall amount raised from this event was £2,600. Half of this has gone into the Glass Hall funds, with the other half being donated to our chosen charity, Charlie House, an organisation that helps one of our Glass family\’s. Charlie House has recently posted on their website about our donation, with Kerrie commenting on the support she receives from the community, you can read more here
A big thank you once again to Alan Duff who organised the whole event along with those who helped out on the day, particularly the Wordies with the BBQ, plus the landowners whose land we wandered over!
Bulbs & New Windows
