Community views required – Exterior painting of the Hall & choice of colour.

Update from the Glass Community Council Construction Sub-Group.

Date 30th May 23.

The Construction Sub-Group met Monday night at the hall. Lots of progress has been achieved by a small team of volunteers. This has been led by Marc & Tom. The Hall interior has been freshened up considerably with fresh, bright paintwork, new heaters and lights have been installed and are fully functioning. The floor has been sanded and now requires to be sealed.

However, the decision to paint the main entrance came under fire. The decision to go ahead and also the colour caused some disagreement. It was expressed that many locals were very unhappy with this exterior change. A lengthy discussion was held but could not conclude on a suitable outcome.

To break the impasse, it was decided to go out and solicit views from both committee members and also wider community views. When all is said and done the subject should be resolved to the benefit and liking of all, within reason.

With this in mind we would appreciate as many individual views as possible to reach a consensus. Please complete the following questions, bear in mind that any change from current will require additional effort.

We are conscious that not everyone in the community has internet and we will endeavour to reach these people with the survey. However, if you know of anyone who may like to take a view on this please print this page, fill in the survey and return it to the post box at the hall.

Views to be returned at the latest 15th June 23.
